Animation Project
The heart origami was the first origami that I learned to make as a kid. Since then, all letters to my friends and people that I love, was written inside the origami.
The animation is a step-by-step of how to fold the origami heart. The first heart is white, because white is the absence of color pigments, then it's followed by hearts with different colors and the last one is black, which is the junction of all pigment colors.
The analogy presented is: our life without love, is white, uninteresting, sameness. When we find love all of a sudden life seems to be more colorful and we find joy, happiness... but love is also hard and the process of loving and being loved can hurt. It’s hard to create expectations of things that maybe won’t happen, to let someone see the real you, to depend on someone, to let them in, to allow yourself to be vulnerable. To live the love and embrace all the "blackness" (junction of all colors/feelings) is challenging.
The Beatle song "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" have a special phrase that translates what I aim with this animation: "I don't know why nobody told you how to unfold your love". My interpretation for this phrase, it's not literally the meaning of telling someone or teaching someone how to love, but, actually, give them reasons to love... I assume that he is questioning how no one never made her want to unfold, reveal and live love.
