Video Project

Working with light and darkness, this project is about using the two with everyday objects to portray an ominous and uneasy feeling.
Specifically, the use of light in terms of the chandeliers, candles, and the light source behind the painting are meant to bring in a central point of focus.
The lights dim and rise, flicker and waver in the darkness, bringing your attention to the focal point but also lighting the edges of what may be lurking in the darkness and peaking the curiosity of the viewer. Using a lack of light acts as a medium to flow between clips. The "negative" space and use of sepia tone age the work just enough to give a sense of antiquity and old horror.
