(Pieces of You)
I've been influenced by David Hockey since my sophomore year of high school in my Photography 1-2 class. At first, I didn't think much of it until years went by and I revisited his work and realized what a genius he is. I knew I wanted to produce a piece that was inspired by him. Here we have a piece inspired by not only David Hockney, but also minimalist and simplistic design. It does not look like much but I am very satisfied with this piece. I appreciate how "imperfect" it looks and how it is realistic yet unrealistic. I also would like to point out that this is reality and we need to appreciate every single "flaw" and love ourselves for who we are and be happy with ourselves. This is something you can see, like fragmented images or memories of a person you know. And that's how I want people to start to interpret this piece but it can mean a lot of things to a lot of people and this piece is always open for interpretation.
