Artist Statement Critique

This work is a subtle exploration of the whimsical nature of tattooing. My photos that were used are all pieces that have been taken to use in an artistic manner, but had no previous oppportunities to be used as such. Together they make a piece that talks about the relationship between the artist and the art, the nature of the ink and permanence of the imagination of those who are tattooed with such images. From bottom to top, the ink comes alive and takes on a life of its own, slowly flowing from a state of suspended animation to a flourishing being of its own, the artist in tow to witness these events.
