The oh so Nonchalant Font

Fantasy Font:

I love flowers! I love the look of flowers, the smell, the whole garden effect, the aliveness that is within a beautiful flower. Typically everyone is uplifted by flowers and enjoy the scenery. If I could write in any type of font it would be a very floral and uplifting font. My favorite colors are greens and blues so I love that the base of these letters are a light serene blue!

Usable Font:

My preferred usable font would have to be "Georgia". I know that is very plain, and straight forward but it's not trying too hard to be something different, reserved, and has the ability to work as a causal font but also as a professional one as well.

Being in the professional world of research papers, e-mailing potential employers and handouts given by professors, I haven't had much time to see or experiment with fonts. This assignment opened my eyes more on the elaborate ways of using fonts to your advantage. I have seen the 2007 "Helvetica" film on the importance of fonts in our society, but until now I really am starting to see the underlying tones and messages that all fonts have. Beneath me is a slideshow that shows different representations of fonts and unique ways of saying the same thing: "Hello World", some are accompanied by pictures others by colors and shapes. Each picture though saying the same thing has a different feeling, some take an eclectic approach while others are streamlined. Each is slightly different and wonderful in their own way.
