Katherine Normal is a Sound Artist from England who uses nature and our natural environment to create her Sound Creations. The attached sound creation is called "Local Materials" and is an example of what she describes as Landscapes in Sound. This piece was created near her home, which is adjacent to a church. The sound creation consists of various sounds created from nature and our environment, whether it be from humans or constructs of humans and nature. In this piece you can hear various birds, strong winds, church bells(loud church bells), more birds, rain, mechanical sounds from construction workers and finally nothing. Absolutely nothing. As a creative design, I have to say it wasn't bad. It was kind of like sitting in a park and listening to the world.
