Sound artist: Jacqueline Kiyomi Gordon
Sound artist, Jacqueline Kiyomi Gordon, takes a different approach on sound art by taking the auditory factor of sound art and mixing it with visual art. She explains on the website: Creators Project that sound art is typically boring to the naked eye which inspired her to make her sound art visually stimulating to her viewers, or should I say listeners. This obviously makes the creation of the art more complex considering you want the sound and the physical art to mix well and essentailly complement each other. Many of the viewers were quite satisfied with the finishing product. Check out some pics below!
Sound artist: Joel Cahen
Respected sound artist, Joel Cahen, takes sound art to a completely different level when he makes sound art a little more unique by bringing it underwater to his listeners. He calls his art Liquid Vibrations, clever right? His underwater art has been traveling to pools all across Europe "wowing" his listeners since 2008 and continues to do so. Cahen says he really tries to reach out to the visually impaired, hard of hearing, and special needs because you can still enjoy the art through the vibrations for the hard of hearing, and the sounds for the visually impaired. This seems like a great use of art if you ask me! Check out some pictures below of some of the more famous exhibitions featured in Europe.
