Mark Dion is a well known art school graduate that isn't just your ordinary artist, painter, or sculptor, however he does something much different from other artists. Mark creates artwork out of regular every-day items and arranges them in a way that creates it into a piece of art. You name it he will create something amazing out of it. Mark graduated from University of Hartford, School of Art, Connecticut, and continues to live happily there while still creating his work on a daily basis. Not to mention, Dion has won countless awards throughout his career while having many pieces of his work displayed in various museums all across the United States.
In the biography about Mark, they say “Dion creates works that question the distinctions between “objective” (“rational”) scientific methods and “subjective” (“irrational”) influences.” This was very inspirational to me making me realize there are so many different mediums of art that are endless. Watching the video makes me really believe art will never die in our society. It also made me realize that going outside of your comfort zone and really expressing yourself will help you create the best pieces. Mark Dion is an inspiration to many people, and so many people, including myself, are drawn to his abstract sculptures making anybody really think twice about what art really is and could be.

Here are some of his pieces below that really caught my eye.
